Snail Festival
Estiramantens Snail Festival (Tavira):
Date: April 25, 2026.
It takes place at the Estiramantens Leisure Park (Santo Estêvão).
Querença Snail Festival (Loulé):
Date: May 16 and 17, 2026.
Faro Snail Festival:
Forecast: Second half of May (usually between the last week of May and the beginning of June).
Location: Revelim de Santo António (Altinho). It is one of the largest in the Algarve, with several taverns and live music.
International Snail Festival (Castro Marim):
Forecast: Mid-July (in 2025 it was July 18-20).
Location: Revelim de Santo António, Castro Marim. This is the "world championship" of snails, where you can sample recipes from Spain, France, Italy, and Morocco.
Porches Snail Festival (Lagoa):
Forecast: July.
Location: Porches Sports Complex. A more community-oriented festival focused on regional flavors.





🌟 Highlights and Traditions of the Pine Cone Festival (Estoi, Faro): One of the most authentic pilgrimages in the region. At the beginning of May, participants dress in traditional attire and travel in decorated horse-drawn carriages or tractors to Ludo, returning at night in a torchlight procession.
Festa da Espiga (Salir, Loulé): Celebrated on Ascension Thursday (May 14, 2026). It is an ethnographic festival that celebrates the rural world with parades of floats, local products, and lots of entertainment.
Algarve Academic Week (Faro): Usually takes place during the first weeks of May, featuring major concerts and the famous "Blessing of the Folders" at Largo da Sé. 🍷
